    Description

    Beautiful Brass Fleam Used for Blood-Letting.
    I've seen a similar piece dating to the 1880s which seems about right.  Polished brass body with a steel blade.  This is a large piece measuring about 4.5" Long.  It is unusual because it has a blade guard which is adjustable.  The blade can cut to a wide variety of depths.  Beautiful piece and hard to photograph (like taking a picture of a mirror!).   The case is in good shape and has a green velvet interior.  Rare to find instrument and case in this condition.   If you are a collector and have been saving for a rainy day - it's raining!!!
