Up for auction is a vintage 1971 Julia Belle Swain Steamboat 20 cent on a ride advertisement Wooden Nickel from Peoria, Illinois. Compliments of South Side Bank. Nice looking condition although the printing is a little light where the original wood grain is more coarse. The size is about 1-1/2 inches in diameter and about 1/8 inch thick. Use of the nickel was valid after May 9, 1971; the steamboat’s inaugural cruise was on May 8, 1971. Please review photos and ask questions before bidding.
