Mottahedeh Italian colorful Mallard DUCK at center of octagonal dish / plate. Excellent condition and clean.
THE WHITE AT THE END OF THE TAIL IS A WHITE PAINTED ACCENT UNDER THE GLAZE. NOT A CHIP.
Measures 7 5/8ths inches across base by 4 1/4 inches high. SIGNED S. 6385 ITALY and Mottahedeh label on the bottom.
No cracks, chips, gouges or stains. I find three minute manufacturing flaws;
1.) there is a grain of sand size raised pit (under the glaze) on the underside of one wing,
2.) two firing contact lines on the outer underside edge of the dish and
3.) there are two excess specks of pottery, on the bottom of the plate, inside the ring of the foot-rim.
This lovely and unique dish is clean, bright and ready for service and display.
WHITE SPOTS AND STREAKS ARE REFLECTIONS AND GLARE FROM THE LIGHTING.
