ANTIQUE MEDICAL SURGICAL TOOLS BOX SHARP & SMITH SCALPEL CIVIL WAR CHIRURGIE

Description

We received some antique medical instruments from an old estate and are listing the 3 boxes we found as three individual auctions. This is for the second box.
There is one key that fits 2 boxes and the latch on the 3rd box doesn't work. The key is included in this listing.
We do not know much about these instruments and will describe them to the best of our ability.
This box measures approximately 15 3/4" long, 3 3/8" deep and 3" tall. There are a total of 14 items plus the key. Five tools are marked SHARP & SMITH, one is marked something we can't read and the others do not have a mark that we can see. The saw measures approximately 14" long, the longer knives measure approximately 15" long, and the other tools go down in size from there. The rope/string is still nimble, the brush is holding, the twine (for stitches?) is wrapped on what we think is a glass tube. There is some slight discoloration on the tools and a slight bit of rust on the saw. These have not been cleaned at all.
The box is in good to very good condition. It does not smell overly musky. These is a slight residue on the top left and bottom left corner, which we opted not to clean.
