Interesting that this set has canvas case I haven't seen one. In this time it was hard to keep baby alive. So, tongs of life were important part for a doctor's set if needed for difficult birthing. Marked Sharp and Smith a American company. Company was very well known in medical.
Case is really dirty and stained. Has a smell been next to oil. One of button came off still on the case if wanted to fixed. Small part of piece was rust where chrome wore off. Number 12 marked on it. Beautiful design on it. Canvas has a war time feel to it but just not sure if it is? Sharp and Smith co was big part of war time in America. Take look big part of description.
Great addition to any Collection of Oddities, Display, Art, Photography and for Movie making. Gift to Doctor or Dentist.
