    Description

"Fred Haslam & Co" (circa 1912) Metal Surgical Case
12 1/2" long, 4" wide and 1" high. It has flip top lids on each end to protect the tools inside.
The case holds ten operating tools. For each of the ten spaces, it has the name of the tool and an outline of the tool. The tools in this case are mainly for bone surgery, catheterization and intubation.  Starting from the right side there are spaces for Gigli Saws, Bone Drills, Murphy's Buttons, Male Catheters, Trachea Tubes Plaster Knifes and Wyeth's Pins.  Unfortunately, none of the medical devices listed are available with the case.
The rust/dirt have been cleaned and the original shine has been brought back to the unit.  On the outside left of the case some of the silver finish has worn off leaving a copper-like color underneath, but other than this blemish, the item is in excellent condition and has minimal ware for it's age.  There are no deep scratches or dents in the actual case itself.
On the outside, located on each wing, are the trademark insignias with "Patented Nov. 5, 1912" engraved into the metal.  In the center, located on the inside, is the trademark insignia with "Fred Haslam & Co." engraved into the metal.
Items such as these are very hard to find and a unique opportunity for any collector of vintage medical items.
